Larsen Jensen

General Partner
Bio

Larsen Jensen is the Founder and Managing General Partner of Harpoon Ventures, a $300M AUM venture capital firm specializing in early-stage technology companies. At Harpoon, Larsen has built the firm from the ground up, raising three funds and investing in dozens of high-profile startups in a variety of sectors.

Prior to founding Harpoon, Larsen gained venture experience at Andreessen Horowitz and Lightspeed Venture Partners, where he supported early-stage companies across various sectors. His journey into venture capital was preceded by a role in Goldman Sachs’ Principal Investment Area (PIA) within its Merchant Banking Division, focusing on private equity and growth-stage investing.

Larsen served as a U.S. Navy SEAL for six years, deploying on combat operations in Afghanistan. He is a combat-decorated veteran whose military service reflects a commitment to mission success and leadership under pressure. The skills he honed in the SEAL Teams—teamwork, strategic thinking, and resilience—now inform his work with founders and portfolio companies.

Before his military career, Larsen was one of the most accomplished American distance swimmers in history. A two-time Olympic medalist (2004 Athens, 2008 Beijing), he still holds the American record in the 400m freestyle. At the height of his career, he simultaneously held the American records in the 400m, 800m, and 1500m freestyle events.

Larsen earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Southern California, where he also gained early financial experience working at UBS and Citizens Business Bank. After leaving the Navy, he pursued his MBA at Stanford Graduate School of Business to further refine his skills in leadership and investing.

When not working with founders or portfolio companies, Larsen spends his time with his family and stays connected to his roots by socializing, working out, and training, with former Navy teammates.
